Front End Developers

We have an immediate need for JavaScript ninjas and general front-end gurus. Our software is built on the LAMP stack utilizing HTML/CSS and YUI (though experience with any of the major JavaScript libraries is relevant). We're looking for emerging superstars - developers that are still hungry and looking for exciting opportunities, but who also have a few years of relevant experience anywhere in the typical web app stack. Performance tuning, usability testing, and SEO-experience are all considered major pluses, but ultimately great developers are problem solvers regardless of the challenge. You should be comfortable leading a small team of engineers and working collaboratively with our back-end team under tight deadlines.

Required skills:

- A passion for dynamic web design and strong visual-design skills
- Experience building sites using HTML/CSS
- Ability to ensure a high quality consistent look and feel across major platforms and browsers
- Provide timelines, estimates, and status for design project milestones
- Participate in collaborative visual design and project planning sessions
- Work both independently and collaboratively with team members and demonstrate leadership, innovation, and accountability for assigned responsibilities
- Adhere to web development best practices and ongoing changes in the interactive development space
- Bonus points if you have a portfolio of self-started web-based projects or freelance work we can check out

Bonus skills:

- Design web page and content using Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software packages

Back End Developers

We have an immediate need for back-end developers. Our software is built utilizing Linux, PHP, PostgreSQL, etc. We're looking for emerging superstars - developers that are still hungry and looking for exciting opportunities, but who also have a few years of relevant experience.  Experience with scalability (caching, database sharding, etc.), performance tuning, community growth, and SEO are all considered major pluses, but ultimately great developers are problem solvers regardless of the challenge. You should be comfortable leading a small team of engineers and working collaboratively with our front-end team under tight deadlines.

Required Skills:
- Object Oriented PHP5 experience
- Database schema design and optimization (PostgreSQL a plus)
- Comfortable working with other engineers on a small team
- Fast learner and natural problem solver

Bonus Skills:
- JavaScript (YUI even better)
- Optimization, scalability, database sharding and caching (memcached)
- Security-aware
- Experience implementing and customizing site-wide search (Lucene/Solr a big plus)
- Search Engine Optimization experience
- Management/distribution of large email lists

Monetization Guru

Huddler.com needs an experienced monetization expert to bring our platform and sites to the next level. You will create the monetization team that connects our portfolio of sites and the various vertical ad networks, affiliate partners, and brands we work with.

You should have:
A working knowledge of the online advertising world and some great ideas about how to maneuver within it
An innate love of spreadsheets, dollar signs, and math
A small enough ego that will allow you to do the work you might normally expect an assistant to cover
Conversely, a large enough ego that we can trust you to negotiate on our behalf
A drive towards results - you don't stop until you meet your goals
The ability to work very closely with development teams to ensure minimum disruption in user experience
Excellent communication skills
The ability to work independently and to report succinctly to upper management when necessary

Responsibilities will include:
Hiring a team of reps to scale these responsibilities as our network grows
Tuning media kits (that's right...you may be a "packager")
Creating case studies with successful advertising partners
Training site owners on how to sell their site sponsorships

Agency or major ad network experience is a plus.
